2/20/07 Russell has been treated for heartworms and is heartworm negative. YEAH! Thanks to a generous donation for his heartworm treatment, he was able to do it quickly. He is a very playful dog who loves to chase birds and run as fast as he can in figure 8s around the yard. He will play with toys in the yard by himself is no one is around. He will take a toy toss it into the air then catch it. He is a very happy boy who is very grateful to have been given a second chance at life. He is superbly crate trained.
12/15/06 Russell is HW positive and only 15 months old. How sad that he was not given HW preventative medication. He has an endearing personality and stares into your eyes the entire time you are petting him. He is so grateful for attention, food and shelter he just loves to be near you. He weighed about 18 pounds when we rescued him and in three weeks now weighs 22. He has a chiseled muscular body and has a very thick short coat. He is feeling much better now and new pictures will be posted soon.

Russell was rescued from a high kill shelter before he was to be put down. He has kennel cough and is getting the TLC he needs. He is a larger size long-legged Jack but still only about 20 pounds. He is very sheepish but LOVES to be petted and next to people. He flinches if you step over his leash so would do best with children over 5 so younger children would not scare him. Russell is totally crate trained and is quiet in his crate as well. So house training will not be far behind.
